Aperol

Aperol is an Italian bitter apéritif made of gentian, rhubarb, and other herbs and roots. It has a vibrant orange hue and a bitter-sweet taste with notes of orange and herbs. Aperol was originally created in 1919 in Padua, Italy, by the Barbieri brothers. It is commonly used to make the popular Aperol Spritz cocktail, which combines Aperol, prosecco, and soda water. With its lower alcohol content (11%) compared to other apéritifs, Aperol has become a refreshing and versatile aperitivo enjoyed worldwide, often served over ice with a slice of orange.
