Serving

  • Serve your freshly stirred Negroni cocktail in an old-fashioned glass filled with ice. Alternatively, if you prefer, you can strain it into a chilled cocktail glass without ice.

Tips

  • For the best results, use a high-quality gin and vermouth - this cocktail is all about the balance of the three ingredients, so the quality of each will significantly impact the final result. Moreover, don't skip the orange garnish as it adds to the overall flavor profile and presentation of this classic drink. Always remember to drink responsibly.

History

Legend has it that the Negroni was invented in Florence, Italy, in the early 20th century, when a local noble, Count Camillo Negroni, asked his bartender to strengthen his favorite cocktail — the Americano — by replacing the soda water with gin. The bartender also added an orange garnish, rather than the typical lemon garnish of the Americano, thus the Negroni was born.
