The Dalmore Highland Single Malt Scotch Port Wood Reserve is a luxury whisky characterized by its unique and sophisticated aging process. It hails from Dalmore distillery, which has a rich heritage in the Scottish Highlands and is revered for its exemplary craftsmanship. This whisky is initially matured in American white oak ex-bourbon casks before being split into two, with half continuing its maturation in former bourbon barrels and the remaining half in the finest aged port pipes which formerly housed Tawny Port from W&J Graham's vineyard in Portugal.
These exceptional port pipes impart a rich fruitiness to the whisky, giving it a tantalizing layer of blackcurrant, plums, and sweet cherries. These flavours blend harmoniously with the underlying notes of creamy caramel, vanilla, honeyed sweetness, and almonds, which are a characteristic feature of Dalmore whiskies. The result is a scotch with gentle spices, orange marmalade, crushed apples and a roasted coffee finish.
